About Limonium platyphyllum Lincz.
Limonium platyphyllum, commonly called broad-leaved statice or florist's sea lavender, is a flowering plant species that belongs to the family Plumbaginaceae. This species is native to the Black Sea region, including Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Crimea, southern and eastern European Russia, and the Caucasus, and it has been introduced to Great Britain. It is a perennial halophyte that grows 60 to 75 cm (24 to 30 in) tall. It is widely available for purchase from commercial plant suppliers, and a number of cultivars have been developed, including the well-known 'Violetta' which produces darker petals.
