Limonia nubeculosa Meigen, 1804 is a species that reaches a body length of 9 millimeters (0.35 in) to 11 millimeters (0.43 in). The wings have a dark pattern along their front edge. The femurs, the segment of the legs, are yellow in color and marked with three dark rings. This species occurs in forests across Europe, and is most common in Central Europe. Adults fly from April to November. During the summer, this species may aestivate in caves, where it can sometimes be found in large numbers.
