About Limnonectes fujianensis Ye & Fei, 1994
Limnonectes fujianensis, commonly called the Fujian large-headed frog, is a frog species that belongs to the family Dicroglossidae. It is the closest relative of Limnonectes kuhlii, and was previously misidentified as this species. Its scientific name references its type locality, located in Fujian province, China. In addition to Fujian, this frog can also be found in the Chinese provinces of Hunan, Zhejiang, and Jiangxi, and in Taiwan. Some other sources report that this species has a somewhat broader distribution than this. Limnonectes fujianensis is a medium-sized frog. Males have a snout-vent length of 54 mm (2.1 in), while females have a snout-vent length of 48 mm (1.9 in). Its natural habitats include moist lowland forests, moist montane forest, rivers, intermittent rivers, swamps, freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marshes, open excavations, and man-made canals and ditches.
