A white to pale tan stripe runs along the long, prominent keel of this species. In adults, the foot sole is pale in the center with dark edges, while juveniles have an entirely white foot sole. The tentacles are dark, marked with black or brown spots. This species can grow to over 30 cm in length, though most adults measure between 10 and 20 cm. Distribution: Limax cinereoniger is a slug native to Europe. It has been recorded across most of Europe, including Bulgaria, the Czech Republic (where it is classified as least concern), Italy, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Ireland, Great Britain, Finland, Ukraine, and several other European countries. Its range extends east as far as the Urals. It is common across much of its range, but is mostly rare or absent from the southernmost parts of Europe. While it has been documented on the Iberian Peninsula and in the Balkans, there are no recorded occurrences in Portugal or Greece.
