About Liatris bracteata Gaiser

Liatris bracteata Gaiser grows from rounded corms, which produce hairless stems that reach 25 to 75 cm (9.8 to 29.5 inches) in height. Its flower heads are loose, widely spaced along the stem, and sessile (without individual stems), arranged together in a spike-like formation. The foliage is dotted with glands; both basal and cauline leaves are linear in shape and have a single nerve. This species produces seeds inside cypselae fruits, which measure 6 to 9 mm (0.24 to 0.35 inches) long and have feathery bristles attached at their top. Liatris bracteata flowers from September to November.
