Leucothoe davisiae is an erect evergreen shrub that grows in wet mountain habitats like bogs. It can reach over one meter in height. Its leaves are leathery, hairless, oval, and between 1 and 6 centimeters long. The inflorescence is a hanging cluster of many small, white, urn-shaped flowers that resemble the flowers of manzanitas. This species blooms from June to August. Its fruit is a capsule roughly half a centimeter long, which holds many tiny winged seeds.
