This species has been recorded in Ontario and Québec, Canada, as well as in Kentucky, Connecticut, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and Illinois, United States. The wingspan of adult Leucanthiza amphicarpeaefoliella is around 8 mm. The larvae of this moth feed on Amphicarpaea bracteata, and they create mines inside the leaves of their host plant.
