Leptosiphon nuttallii is a perennial herb that grows a patch of small, hairy stems reaching up to around 20 centimeters in height. Each leaf is typically divided into five very narrow, needle-like lobes. The plant produces flowers in clustered inflorescences; individual flowers have white corolla lobes each around half a centimeter long, joined at a yellowish throat.
