Leptomyrmex tibialis is an ant species that belongs to the genus Leptomyrmex. It was first described by Carlo Emery in 1895 under the name Leptomyrmex nigriventris tibialis. This species is endemic to Australia, where it can be found in both New South Wales and Queensland. Lucky and Ward put forward arguments for its synonymy, and this synonymy decision was accepted by the Australian Faunal Directory.
