About Leptoglossus oppositus (Say, 1832)

Leptoglossus oppositus (Say, 1832) is a species of leaf-footed bug belonging to the family Coreidae, and it is found in North America. It resembles another species, Leptoglossus fulvicornis, but can be told apart by two key traits: it has deeper scallops on the leaf-like structure of its hind tibia, and it has three extra white spots stretching across its hemelytra. This species has a wide distribution range: it occurs from New York to Florida, extends west to Iowa and Minnesota, and also reaches the southwestern regions of the United States and into Mexico.
