This is a description of Leptocybe invasa Fisher & La Salle, 2004, a tiny wasp species. Adult individuals of this wasp measure just over one millimeter in total body length. The body is primarily brown, and has faint blue to green iridescent coloration. Segments of the wasp's legs are yellowish. This wasp is native to Queensland, Australia, though its exact full native distribution within Queensland has not yet been determined. It has since become an invasive species that infests eucalypts, and has been recorded across a wide introduced range: northern, eastern, and southern Africa; Asia; southern Asia; the Pacific Region; Europe, reaching as far north as the United Kingdom; southern South America; the Middle East; Mexico; and the United States. Current observations indicate that the invasive range of Leptocybe invasa continues to spread.
