Leptinopterus tibialis reaches different body lengths depending on sex: males are about 14 to 38 millimetres (0.55 to 1.50 inches) long, while females are about 15 to 18 millimetres (0.59 to 0.71 inches) long. Males of this species have well-developed mandibles, which bear several teeth of varying sizes along their inner edges. This is a quite rare species, and it can be found in Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay.
