Lentinula lateritia is an agaric fungus species that belongs to the family Omphalotaceae. It is distributed across Southeast Asia and Australasia, though it is not found in New Zealand. This species was first formally described in 1881 by Miles Joseph Berkeley, who classified it as a member of the genus Agaricus. It was later reclassified and moved to the genus Lentinula in 1983 by David Pegler.
