About Ledra aurita (Linnaeus, 1758)

Ledra aurita (Linnaeus, 1758) is a large grey species that has ear-shaped projections on its pronotum. Adult individuals of this species measure between 13 and 18 millimetres, or 0.51 to 0.71 inches, in length. This species inhabits deciduous forests across Europe and Asia, and it is most commonly found living in treetops. While Ledra aurita is common in certain regions, it is difficult to observe thanks to its camouflage that matches tree bark. It can typically be found on trees covered in lichen, with oaks being the tree it occurs on most often.
