Lechea mucronata Raf., commonly called hairy pinweed, is a perennial forb. It is native to North America, where its distribution ranges from New Hampshire west to Michigan and Oklahoma, and extends south to central peninsular Florida, Texas, and northern Mexico. This species grows in a variety of open, dry habitats including dunes, dry hammocks, woodlands, and longleaf pine sandhills.
