About Lastreopsis hispida (Sw.) Tindale

Lastreopsis hispida, commonly called the bristly shield fern, is a widespread common plant in New Zealand. In Australia, it occurs less frequently, growing in cool rainforest areas with humus-rich soils; it is more rarely found growing as an epiphyte on tree ferns or mossy logs. In the Australian state of New South Wales, this species is listed as endangered, where it grows at only a small number of remote sites in the Blue Mountains, including Mount Wilson. The specific epithet hispida comes from Latin, and it means "bristly".
