About Larabicus quadrilineatus (Rüppell, 1835)

The four-line wrasse, whose scientific name is Larabicus quadrilineatus, is a species of wrasse native to the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. This fish lives on coral reefs at depths ranging from the surface down to 15 meters, or 49 feet. Juvenile four-line wrasses act as cleaner fish, while adult individuals of this species feed on coral polyps. The species reaches a maximum total length of 11.5 centimeters, which is 4.5 inches. Larabicus quadrilineatus is the only confirmed member of the genus Larabicus.
