About Lagidium wolffsohni (Thomas, 1907)

Lagidium wolffsohni, commonly known as Wolffsohn's viscacha, is a relatively large-bodied species. Head-to-body length measures approximately 470 mm, while the tail can reach up to 305 mm in length. Its coat has a wool-like texture, with body hairs ranging from 35 to 50 mm long. Tail hairs of this species are notably long, and can exceed 150 mm. This viscacha is easily recognizable by its orange-clay colored fur, short black ears, and a distinctly bushy tail.
