It is an aquatic pulmonate gastropod mollusc that belongs to Lymnaeidae, the family of pond snails. In North America, the distribution of Ladislavella elodes covers all of Canada and the Great Lakes region of the United States. One known parasite of Ladislavella elodes is Echinostoma revolutum.
