Lacunicambarus polychromatus is a large species of crawfish. Its body is most often colored light brown to green-brown, with red markings along the edges of its tail, head, abdominal segments, and pincers. It also has distinct red spots on its pincers. This species is most commonly found in North America, occurring at the southern ends of Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, and Illinois, as well as in northern Florida and southern Ontario. It is a burrowing species that lives in muddy lowland habitats.
