About Lactarius acerrimus Britzelm.
The cap of Lactarius acerrimus Britzelm. ranges from 5 to 15 cm in diameter. When the mushroom is old, the cap often develops a funnel-like shape. The lamellae are cream-colored in young specimens, and change to an ochre color as the mushroom matures. The cap edge is smooth, undulated, and irregular. The stem is short and stubby, measuring 2 to 5 cm long and 0.8 to 2 cm thick. This species is found primarily in Europe, though it has also been recorded in North America and Morocco.
