Lacrymaria lacrymabunda, commonly called the weeping widow mushroom, is a fungus species that belongs to the family Psathyrellaceae. Its cap ranges in color from yellowish to grayish, and may sometimes have an orange tint in its center; it can grow up to 8 centimetres (3+1⁄4 inches) wide. The gills are adnate, though they may appear to be adnexed. Its stem reaches up to 13 cm (5 in) long and 1.5 cm (1⁄2 in) wide. This species produces a blackish-brown spore print. It is distributed across North America, Central America, Europe, northern Asia, and New Zealand, growing on disturbed ground in woodland areas, gardens, and parks. While it is sometimes classified as an edible mushroom, some people have reported experiencing stomach upset after consuming it.
