About Laccaria ochropurpurea (Berk.) Peck
Laccaria ochropurpurea is a species of fungus. Its cap has a pinkish to yellowish color, and ranges from 4 to 13 centimetres (1+1โ2 to 5 inches) wide. Its stipe ranges from 5 to 19 centimetres (2 to 7+1โ2 inches) long. This fungus has purple gills and a white spore print. It can resemble several other species: L. trullisata, which grows in sand, as well as Cortinarius torvus and Cortinarius lucorum. Laccaria ochropurpurea produces edible mushrooms, and can be found growing under hardwood trees and conifers east of the Rocky Mountains between July and October.
