About Labrisomus xanti Gill, 1860

Labrisomus xanti, commonly known as the Largemouth blenny, is a species of labrisomid blenny. It is native to the Pacific coast of Mexico, ranging from Baja California to Jalisco, where it lives in shallow waters. This species can grow to a total length of 17.8 centimetres, which equals 7.0 inches. Its specific name honors John Xantus, a Hungarian zoologist born in 1825 and died in 1894, who collected the type specimen for this species.
