Krameria lappacea (Dombey) H.M.Burdet & B.B.Simpson, commonly called para rhatany and Peruvian rhatany, is a plant species belonging to the genus Krameria. It is native to Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, northern Chile, and northwest Argentina. This is a slow-growing shrub that occurs in the semi-arid areas of the Andean region. Its Latin specific epithet "lappacea" comes from lappa, which means "with burrs".
