Kinosternon hirtipes, commonly known as the rough-footed mud turtle, is a species of mud turtle that belongs to the family Kinosternidae. This species is native to the southwestern United States and the adjacent region of northern Mexico. Within the United States, Kinosternon hirtipes can be found in Texas. In Mexico, the species occurs in the following states: Aguascalientes, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Mexico DF, Durango, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Mexico State, Michoacán, Morelos, and Zacatecas.
