About Kinixys lobatsiana (Power, 1927)

Kinixys lobatsiana (Power, 1927) is a species of turtle. This turtle has an elongated, rather narrow carapace that reaches a maximum length of 16.7 centimetres (6.6 in). The carapace ranges from slightly domed to flattened, and bears a low, disrupted medial keel. This species is endemic to Southern Africa, occurring in South Africa and Botswana. It is specifically restricted to northern South Africa and southeastern Botswana. In this region, it inhabits Acacia woodlands, Combretum woodlands, and bushveld, at elevations between 800 and 1,500 metres (2,600 and 4,900 ft) above sea level.
