About Junonia terea (Drury, 1773)
Junonia terea (common names soldier pansy or soldier commodore) is a butterfly species in the Nymphalidae family. It was first described by Dru Drury in 1773. This species occurs in the Afrotropical realm. Adult wingspan ranges from 50 to 55 mm for males, and 52 to 60 mm for females. The larvae of Junonia terea feed on Asystasia gangetica, Phaulopsis imbricata, and Ruellia patula.
