Junonia sophia, commonly known as the little commodore or little pansy, is a species of butterfly belonging to the family Nymphalidae. This butterfly can be found in Senegal, the Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, Cameroon, Angola, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Malawi, and Zambia. Its natural habitat includes forests and savanna. The larvae of Junonia sophia feed on Paulowilhelmia sclerochiton, Hypoestes verticillaris, Brillantaisa lamium, Sclerochiton paulowilhelmina, and species from the genera Asystasia, Barleria, Justicia, and Ruellia.
