About Juncus nodosus L.

Juncus nodosus L. is a rush species with the common name knotted rush. It is native to a large area of North America that ranges from northern Canada to central Mexico. It grows in wet locations, from freshwater areas to salt marshes. This is a rhizomatous perennial herb that grows slender, smooth stems reaching up to around 60 centimeters in height. Its inflorescence is made up of a series of spherical flower clusters. Each individual flower has green or brown pointed segments, each a few millimeters long and tapering to a point.
