Javanimetrus cyaneus, scientifically named Javanimetrus cyaneus (C.L.Koch, 1836), reaches a total length of 12–15 cm (4.7–5.9 in). Adult individuals of this scorpion species are dark black with visible blue reflections. Their body surface is strongly granulated. This species is classified as harmful: its sting produces moderate to severe pain, but causes no additional lasting or serious health consequences. It is native to Borneo, the Philippines, and Indonesia. In its native range, it occupies tropical rainforests and wetland forests, where it is most commonly found under stones or fallen trees.
