Scientific name: Janolus savinkini Martynov & Korshunova, 2012. Janolus savinkini, commonly known as the purple-tipped janolus, is a colorful sea slug. It is an arminina nudibranch – arminina is a suborder of the genus Janolus – and a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Janolidae. The species' body and caruncle are yellow with a light orange tint. Its papillae and cerata share this same base color, except for their tips, which are blue to purple; this distinct coloration gives the species its common name. This sea slug occurs in East Asian waters, and it is thought to be extremely rare in Okinawa.
