About Izatha epiphanes (Meyrick, 1884)
Izatha epiphanes is a moth that belongs to the family Oecophoridae. This species is endemic to New Zealand, and it is widespread across the country's North Island. The wingspan of adult males ranges from 17 to 25 millimetres, while the wingspan of adult females ranges from 18.5 to 28 millimetres. Adult moths are in flight from late October through February. Larvae of Izatha epiphanes have been successfully reared from dead wood of Pittosporum tenuifolium and Fuchsia excorticata, as well as from dead standing wood of an unidentified Coprosma species, which is likely Coprosma grandifolia.
