About Itaballia pandosia (Hewitson, 1853)

Itaballia pandosia, commonly known as the Pisonis mimic or brown-bordered white, is a butterfly species belonging to the family Pieridae. This species is found in the Amazonian regions of Brazil, Ecuador, and Peru, as well as in Central America, Colombia, and Venezuela. Its natural habitat is primary rainforest. Itaballia pandosia may be a mimic of Moschoneura pinthous. Its wingspan measures approximately 50 mm, or 2.0 inches. It is thought that the larvae of this species possibly feed on the leaves of plants in the Capparis genus.
