About Isogona tenuis Grote, 1872

Isogona tenuis, commonly known as the thin-lined owlet, is a moth species belonging to the family Erebidae. This species was first formally described by Augustus Radcliffe Grote in 1872. Its range extends from Ontario, Wisconsin, Ohio and New Jersey, southward to Florida and Texas. The wingspan of Isogona tenuis measures 28 to 30 millimetres, which is equal to 1.1 to 1.2 inches. In the northern part of its distribution, adult moths are active in flight from May to August; in the southern part, adults are on wing from April to October. The larvae of this moth feed on plants from the Celtis genus.
