About Isocoma menziesii (Hook. & Arn.) G.L.Nesom
Isocoma menziesii is a subshrub that grows as a matted bush, reaching a height of 1 to 2 meters (39 to 79 inches). Its erect branching stems range from hairless to woolly in texture, are generally glandular, and vary in color from gray-green to reddish brown. The leaves of this plant are oval to somewhat rectangular in shape, gray-green in color, sometimes hairy and glandular, and measure 1 to 5 centimeters (0.39 to 1.97 inches) long, with stumpy teeth along their edges. It produces abundant inflorescences made up of clusters of thick flower heads. Each flower head is a capsule with layers of thick, pointed, greenish phyllaries. The head is filled with large, protruding, cylindrical yellow disc florets that have long stigmas.
