Ischnura posita, commonly called the fragile forktail, is a damselfly species belonging to the genus Ischnura. Adults range in length from 21 to 29 millimetres, which is 0.83 to 1.14 inches. This species is native to nearly all of eastern North America. Both males and females have shoulder stripes that look like exclamation marks. It is counted among the more common damselfly species found along the east coast of the United States.
