About Ischnochiton cariosus P.P.Carpenter, 1879

Ischnochiton cariosus, commonly called the corroded ischnochiton, is a species of chiton belonging to the genus Ischnochiton. This species lives under rocks in intertidal and shallow subtidal waters across southern Australia, and along the Western Australian coast north to Shark Bay. It is common throughout its entire range, and is often found living alongside Ischnochiton torri. It can grow up to 35 millimetres in length, and has a pale straw colour.
