About Ischiodon aegyptius (Wiedemann, 1830)
Ischiodon aegyptius, commonly called the epauletted hoverfly, is a species of fly that lives in the Afrotropical realm. Adult individuals of this species are pollinators that hover among many flowers. The larvae of Ischiodon aegyptius are green, featureless, and feed on aphids. This fly resembles a small wasp and is a very powerful flier.
