Ipomoea hederifolia L. is a herbaceous annual vine species native to the Americas. Carl Linnaeus first formally described this species in 1759. Its common names include scarlet morning glory, scarlet creeper, star ipomoea, trompillo, and ivy-leaved morning glory. Note that the name ivy-leaved morning glory is also commonly used for the separate species Ipomoea hederacea.
