About Ipomoea cordatotriloba Dennst.
Ipomoea cordatotriloba Dennst. is an annual herb that can grow to a height of 1.5 to 2 meters (5 to 6 feet), with a maximum vine length of 5 meters (15 feet). Its purple and pink flowers typically bloom from July to October. Its leaves usually have three lobes, though they may also have five lobes, and the center lobe is pinched inward at its base. This species has a muricate pedicel, and its seeds are covered in short hairs. Confirmed populations of Ipomoea cordatotriloba are distributed across Alabama, Arkansas, Chihuahua, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tamaulipas, and Texas. Ipomoea cordatotriloba is rare in truly natural habitats, and grows well in disturbed soil and along roadsides. The species needs little water, has a tendency to spread, and is most often found in lowlands at elevations below 1000 m.
