Scientific name: Ipidia binotata Reitter, 1875. Adult individuals of this species measure 4 to 4.5 millimetres, or 0.16 to 0.18 inches, in length. Their bodies are brownish-black and have a shiny appearance. Each elytron bears two red spots; the antennae and legs are also red. This species inhabits forests and forest steppes. Its larvae feed on the bark of conifers.
