It is native to the U.S. states of Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama, and Florida, as well as Mexico, Guatemala, and Cuba. This plant is a prostrate perennial, with stems that reach approximately 60 cm (2 ft) in length, and it produces salmon pink flowers.
