Indigofera hirsuta, commonly known as hairy indigo or rough hairy indigo, is a species of flowering plant belonging to the family Fabaceae. It is native to almost all tropical regions across the globe, including South America, Africa, Madagascar, the Indian Subcontinent, southern China, southeast Asia, Malesia, Papuasia and Australia. It has also been introduced to the Caribbean, southeast United States, Mexico, and Central America. This species is used as green manure, and is also used for forage on a smaller scale.
