About Indicator minor Stephens, 1815
The lesser honeyguide (Indicator minor, originally described by Stephens in 1815) is a bird species belonging to the Indicatoridae family. Like all other honeyguides, it is a brood parasite. It most commonly lays its eggs in the nests of African barbets, but it will occasionally also use the nests of other bird species including starlings and woodpeckers. This species is widely distributed across sub-Saharan Africa.
