About Incilius aucoinae (O'Neill & Mendelson, 2004)
Incilius aucoinae is a species of toad belonging to the family Bufonidae. Its geographic range covers south-western Costa Rica and the adjacent area of western Panama. Prior to being formally described in 2004, this species was misidentified as Incilius melanochlorus. Its reproduction occurs in broad, low-gradient streams and rivers during the dry season. This adaptable species faces no major threats, and its distribution includes multiple protected areas.
