Ilex pubescens Hook. & Arn., commonly called downy holly or pubescent holly, is a flowering plant species belonging to the family Aquifoliaceae. It is native to southern China, Hainan, and Taiwan. It grows as a shrub or small tree, and can be found in many different habitats ranging from sea level up to around 1,000 m (3,300 ft). It sees wide use in traditional Chinese medicine to treat a range of ailments.
