Idaea laevigata, commonly known as the strange wave, is a moth species belonging to the family Geometridae. This species is native to Central and Southern Europe, and occurs in Britain only as an imported species. It has a wingspan of approximately 20 millimeters (0.79 inches). Adult moths have two generations per year, flying first in June and July, and a second time in September. The larvae of Idaea laevigata feed on dry plant material.
