About Idaea flaveolaria (Hübner)

Idaea flaveolaria (Hübner) shows sexual dimorphism in wingspan: females have a wingspan of 12–14 millimetres (0.47–0.55 in), while males have a wingspan of 14–18 millimetres (0.55–0.71 in). The base color of this species' wings is bright brownish-orange. Two brown transverse lines run across both the forewings and hindwings, and these lines are often almost indistinct. The transverse lines are more clearly visible on the underside of the wings, where a dark discal spot is also present. The outer edge of the wings has a blackish fringe. This species is distributed in Spain, the French Alps, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, and eastern Russia.
