About Iberus gualtieranus (Linnaeus, 1758)
Shell description: The shell of Iberus gualtieranus is keeled and flattened, with distinct ornamentation made up of spiral and radial costulae. By contrast, the related species Iberus alonensis and Iberus campesinus have more rounded shells. Habitat: Iberus gualtieranus lives in limestone mountain regions with rocky substrate and sun-exposed sub-desert environments that have sparse vegetation. It may also sometimes be found in areas with denser vegetation cover. This species is primarily active during spring, and especially during autumn, when temperatures are not extreme and conditions are not overly dry.
